Field research in the Cresenzago neighborhood, Milan

n October, another round of field research was carried out as part of the project. This time, team member Selena Vračar visited Milan, where she conducted field research in the Cresenzago neighborhood.

Cresenzago is part of the “Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods for Resilient Communities” program, selected due to its high heat risk and high population density of vulnerable groups. The transformation of this area involved a range of activities – from artistic interventions in public spaces and the creation of temporary shaded areas, to the development of a “school oasis” around the local school.

Using the observation method and applying the constructed analytical framework, Selena explored the pedagogical potential of public space in this part of Milan. The results demonstrated that the developed framework serves as a comprehensive and systematic tool for assessing the educational opportunities that space can offer.
