November 2024. Lisbon, Portugal – Neighborhood Curriculum Game Jam

Lisbon, Portugal – Neighborhood Curriculum Game Jam

In Lisbon, Portugal, during November 2024, Principal Investigator Marta Brković Dodig organized a Neighborhood Curriculum Game Jam as part of the project Architecture and Urban Planning – An Outside Curriculum. The event took place at Clarity Primary School in collaboration with Aschool, an internationally awarded architecture education duo known for their creative learning programs.

The workshop gathered students, teachers, and educational experts in a collaborative exploration of how community resources and neighborhood spaces can enrich school curricula. Through creative mapping, collaborative play, and design-based discussions, participants identified local sites and experts that could be integrated into everyday learning experiences.

This Lisbon session was a key part of the project’s international testing phase within Work Package 4 (WP4), which focuses on developing and refining the Neighborhood Curriculum Game. The workshop successfully demonstrated how architecture and design education can nurture creativity, spatial awareness, and community engagement, reinforcing the project’s vision of connecting learning, space, and everyday urban life
