“How to make urban environment more humane for growing up in?” – is a starting point of the research conducted by RELATE team member, assistant professor at Faculty of Applied Arts Belgrade, Biljana Branković, architect and exhibition author. Research is a part of the doctoral art project named:
Towards a more humane urban childhood: utilizing playborhood concept in refining city environment through spatial interventions
Exhibition is themed around phenomena of play in the city, it`s history and urban childhood crisis present for a last couple of decades in big cities. Main body of work is dedicated to the new play infrastructure – Playborhood – a network of city spaces playfully redesigned.
Play + neighborhood = Playborhood
System of newly conceptualized spaces relocates play beyond playgrounds, integrating it into the urban fabric.
The project is realized under the mentorship of prof. Tanja Manojlović, at the Applied arts and design study program of art doctoral studies of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Belgrade. Part of the research has been conducted within the Relate project.
