Dušana Nikolić is a Master engineer of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. Through her work in “Škograd” team, she gained knowledge about working with children in the school community on the outskirts of Belgrade, in the Ledine neighborhood. In 2021, she founded her Studio of Architecture and Urbanism for children “La Villette” in Pančevo, which educates children about the environment they live in, teaches them the basics of making drawings and models, but also builds, together with them, a critical opinion about the city in which they live. The work in this studio is supported by several foundations, and it starts in parallel with the work on the preservation and restoration of the Weiffert brewery, as an important cultural heritage in Pančevo, through a series of different projects. In this way, children are involved in the work of the local community, they are given an example of the
struggle for cultural heritage, and they are motivated for further learning. The studio was nominated as a finalist for the “New European Bauhaus” award in 2023.
She is engaged in the Relate project as a research assistant in charge of the development of the “Neighborhood Curriculum game”.
The RELATE project is financed within the IDEJE call, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, project number: 7726555.
