Marta Nikolić

Marta Nikolić is an teaching assistant at the Department of Fine Arts Teaching Methodology, at Teacherꞌs Education Faculty and PhD student of Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies, majoring in Theory of Art and Media at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Before working at the Faculty, she was employed in an elementary school as a teacher. During her doctoral studies, she wrote papers in which she analyzed the different roles of space in creating a stimulating environment for learning and teaching children and adults. She is in the process of writing her doctoral thesis, which focuses on the relationship between the child and the space in which the space shapes the child’s perception and experience, but is also shaped (and transformed) by the child’s experiences, actions and behavior. At the Faculty, while working with students, she pays great attention to the preparation and organization of the kindergarten/school spaces in the planning of art activities.

She is engaged on this project as an external expert. Her main motivation for working on the project is cooperation and connection with colleagues from different fields who understand space as a place of learning and teaching. Also, she believes that this project has the potential to improve existing pedagogical practice both in the country and in the world.
