The RELATE project aims to develop a new research perspective exploring the relationship between space and education, through four main outcomes:
Identification and analysis of urban spaces from a new perspective – by observing city structures through the lens of pedagogy and psychology, the project explores the educational potential of streets, squares, and parks as places that can enhance both formal and informal learning.
Creating a system for analyzing existing public spaces – the project develops a methodological framework for identifying, evaluating, and using existing public spaces as resources for out-of-school and community-based learning.
Critical case study analysis through a multidisciplinary approach – architects, urban planners, educators, and psychologists jointly examine practical examples to identify successful models that connect urban space and education.
Developing a planning tool in the form of a game – the RELATE team is designing an innovative tool to help educational institutions identify, program, and activate public spaces for learning outside the classroom, establishing a “neighbourhood curriculum.”
